Who Are We?

We are a non-profit organization proudly dedicated to supporting youth in need throughout the community of Philadelphia, PA.

Our organization is committed to helping vulnerable children in our community have the best possible start in life. We recognize that youth facing difficult circumstances need extra support and care to overcome their challenges.

Our goal is to make the transition into supportive care less traumatic for the youth and help them feel more secure and valued.

#Handprint will be launching our mission by providing aid and supplies, demonstrating our dedication to the well-being of youth in need.

This approach can foster trust among caregivers, youth support agencies, and the young individuals themselves, ultimately leading to improved outcomes for all.

The Problem

Recent data from the US Department of Health and Human Services (as of September 30, 2021) indicates that approximately 437,500 youth are facing transitional circumstances nationwide.

Child Poverty Rate: According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2020, approximately 14.4% of children under the age of 18 were living in poverty in the United States. This translates to around 9.7 million children living below the federal poverty threshold.

In Philadelphia, PA, similar challenges persist, with many children lacking adequate care, training, and mentorship.

Sadly, a significant portion of these individuals undergo sudden transitions, often entering new environments without essential resources for their daily lives.

As a result, they frequently find themselves navigating these changes with limited possessions.

Understanding Why?

Many of these children have experienced trauma and may be struggling with feelings of abandonment or loss.

Offering them essential items can ease their growth and enhance their comfort and security in their daily environments.

Moreover, providing such supplies supports caregivers in meeting the basic needs of the children they support.
